Earth Education Bonanza

Runs from 9th April 2010 until 11th April 2010

A weekend filled with earth education, programmes, activities, workshops and forums, including hands on participation Luke Abbott of Mantle of the Expert will be the Keynote Speaker on the Saturday morning Those experienced in earth education, or who are learning about it for the first time are all welcome and will find new learning and nourishment. A bonanza of earth education activities can be experienced, from Magic Spots, to Endangered Species, from a Viewing Party, to Earthkeepers, from earth walks to ... All this and warm hearted meals, the celebration of community, campfires and fun.

Earthkeepers Leadership Workshop

Runs from 12th April 2010 until 14th April 2010

A 2-and-a-half day workshop that provides a thorough analysis of the entire onsite Earthkeepers program emphasizing leadership skills and model activity presentations.

The whole Earthkeepers program will be presented from start to finish, and we will be processing each activity presented. For example, after each program component, such as the Opening Ceremony in E.M.'s Lab and concept activities such as Connection Inspection, we will look at the physical set up, props, sequence, and other important details.

UK AWARE

Runs from 16th April 2010 until 17th April 2010

UK AWARE is the UK's only green and ethical lifestyle exhibition, and will bring together 200 exhibitors, 15,000 visitors, 100 low carbon vehicles and over 50 world class guest speakers.

Introduction to self-building an Earthship

This is a two-day course run at Earthship Brighton in partnership with Brighton Permaculture Trust.

Join our gardeners for an inspirational weekend. CAT has over 25 years experience of gardening organically. The course will cover a blend of useful, recreational and ecological gardening with sessions on soil fertility, pest control, compost making, growing vegetables and gardening for wildlife. Suitable for those just starting gardening or converting to organics, this is a relaxed but informative weekend, with (weather permitting) plenty of time spent outside in CAT's beautiful gardens.

The Green Scythe Fair

Short Course: Hedgerow Herbalist (1 day)

To be held on 26th June 2010

This day course will show scouting for herbs, sustainable harvesting from the wild, fresh use, preping herbs for storage, de-hydrating.

Including teas and decoctions, culinary use of herbs, making a basic infused oil, basic formulae for oil infusions, basic salve/balm, basic massage oil, basic cream, herbal vinegars, herbal syrups, bio-regional ingredients, supporting local economy.

Green Awards 2010

To be held on 25th November 2010

This year the 5th Green Awards for Excellence in Communicating Sustainability goes global. These unique Awards, accredited by the Royal Society of Arts, recognise creativity internationally that communicates the importance of corporate and social responsibility, sustainable development and ethical best practice in any sector.

The Awards illustrate the crucial role that needs to be played by green marketing and sustainability communications in informing people about green issues, products and lifestyle choices, and aim to showcase examples of excellence and best practice. According to the International Panel on Climate Change, we are just 80 months from CO2 levels pushing us into irreversible climate change.

Awards open for entries: May to mid-September
Shortlist announcement: Early October
Awards ceremony: 25th November 2010 in London
