The Green Show 2008
Runs from 31st May 2008 until 1st June 2008

The Green Show will be held at London Olympia II, 31 May-1 June 2008, with amazing green features in our exciting programme to keep you occupied for the whole day - bring your family, and come with friends! The show also features an impressive exhibition area, where you can find learn about sustainable living - and really go green!

The Green Show will be co-located at Olympia II with the innovative new Family Show, attracting families from London and beyond. Visitors to The Green Show will be allowed free access to The Family Show, and vice versa. That's another reason to come to the show! We look forward to welcoming you soon!

Day Course: Organic Vegetables of the Old Quarry

Wind Weekend 2008
Runs from 14th June 2008 until 15th June 2008

Wind Weekend is the British Wind Energy Association's free annual event for all the family.

It's a great day for all the family. This year's event takes place on June 14th and 15th. Wind farms up and down the country are opening their gates to welcome you.

In previous years, developers have provided entertainment in the form of musicians, face-painters, magicians, science shows, kite making and flying, pony rides, fact-finding tours, environmental entertainers and bouncy castles.

Day Course: The Practicalities of Using Rainwater and Greywater for Beginners
To be held on 14th June 2008

Gain the basic DIY knowledge of how to save and re-use water, from irrigating the garden to flushing toilets. Come to CAT and see practical examples of what you can do.

EcoFair 2008
To be held on 20th July 2008

The EcoFair 2008 is a groundbreaking event and follows on from the first of its kind in the area which was staged in Burgess Hill in 2007. EcoFair will have a series of zoned streets crisscrossing the park with stalls offering everything from information on sustainable building materials and energy efficiency, to Fair Trade crafts and local produce.

The EcoFair has been set up to educate local people on the ethos of sustainability and raise awareness of the environmental issues that have dominated society in recent months. People want a greener way of life and just need some help to take the first step. The EcoFair will be a starting point that gives people from across Sussex easy access to expert advice as well as sustainable products and services.

Soil Association Organic Food Festival - Bristol
Runs from 6th September 2008 until 7th September 2008

Set in Bristol's famous harbourside, the Organic Food Festival spans the areas of Millennium Square, Anchor Square and the Amphitheatre area; all great locations for creating a genuine, traditional festival feel. Now in its eight year, with over 300 companies represented the festival incorporates bustling food markets, the very best organic food, drink, fashion, skincare and homeware products, a green planet pavilion, demonstration kitchen, talks programme, food cruises around the harbour, and an arts and entertainment fringe that includes food demonstrations, children's activities, music and street theatre!

Find out where your food comes from, meet the producers and learn about going organic with your skincare, clothing and in the home with tempting talks and tastings sessions.

Watch celebrity chefs in the vibrant demonstration kitchen showing you how to prepare delicious local and organic meals – arrive early, these are a very popular attraction!

London Tree-Athlon 2008
To be held on 20th September 2008

More than just a 5km race, participants at the Tree-Athlon will also have the chance to take home a tree-seed or sapling to plant and tell the world their own tree wish.

This is the 4th annual Tree-Athlon and we are calling all runners to beat last years registration number of 1,400! It will be a fun filled day for everyone with lots of entertainments and events for non-runners and children and a celebrity led warm up routine and goody bag for runners.

Trees for Cities is an independent environmental charity, working to improve urban environments by carrying out planting projects in the UK and abroad.

Soil Association Scotland's Organic Food Festival 2008
Runs from 20th September 2008 until 21st September 2008

or a third year the highlight of Scotland's organic calendar returns to Glasgow and the stunning Old Fruitmarket, and for the first time expands to occupy the neighouring and historic Ramshorn Theatre.

There will be a magical marketplace full to the brim with food and drink; fashion and textiles; and health and beauty products. And we’ll be ringing the changes with a brand new programme of cookery demos, talks and tastings, ‘food theatre’, and the popular kids zone. Look out for tasty organic options on the menus of the Merchant City’s best loved restaurants.

They might be internationally renowned experts or local specialists, but wherever they come from they will have a positive energy and be dedicated and passionate about their subject. They will not be aggressive or pushy. They will recognise you as the most important person at that time.

We provide comfortable surroundings for you to explore the opportunities on offer at an unhurried pace. Food and drink is always available and we try to obtain venues with plenty of nearby, free, parking. The vast majority of our scheduled talk and workshop programme is free, and we intend to keep it that way. We occasionally make a small charge to secure a well-known speaker, but we keep those prices low.
